Since writing this post Jason Yun has leveled up to Level 7. You can see that post here.
So this week marks the 4th testing phase for our new Fitness Ranking system— FitRanX.
I absolutely love the system. And our clients, most of them, have jumped on board and are moving up the RanX
But the thing about it is— it isn’t easy.
As of writing this there were 18 people who tested for their next level and only 4 LEVELED UP. And you can count me in there as 19 and not passing.
When I first started FitRanX, they had version 1.0, and I started and barely passed Level 4. Easily passed level 5, and then failed level 6 the 6 times I tried it. Although I was making progress every time. Getting closer every time. I passed all the strength portion every time, it was just the conditioning portion (I had to do 2 trisets each 3 times— the one I failed was 1 leg hops for :30 each side, then :60 double kettlebell swing, snatch, press, and squat, and finished with spiderman pushups (this was what I failed at every time.)

They since came out with FitRanX 2.0. Guess what!! Spiderman pushups were out! I thought to myself YES! Now I’m on my way to Level 8.
Level 8 is their black belt- only 7 people ever have passed it.
I took level 6 with the new standards. Couldn’t pass the dips in the strength portion or the first conditioning set— spiderman pushups was now clapping pushups.
Now if I actually did my age bracket I probably would pass. Age bracket 1 is 35 and under, #2 is 36-55, #3 is 56 +. But I’m not going to do that. Especially with just being just months out of age bracket #1.
Plus I want the biggest challenge!
Now last week I took Level 4 of the new FitRanX 2.0…… I’ve done it twice. Didn’t pass either time. First time I missed the Dive bombers by 10 and the Knee raises by 4. the second time I missed Dive bombers by 9 and the knee tucks by 2. Progress……. Progress……
But I hadn’t really been training for it. Now I’m all in.
Especially when I keep doing it over and over and over again. Because I get better each time, or I learn something along the way.
The ones who persist are the ones you remember. Every knows this guy:

10,000 times to get the light bulb right! Talk about persistence!
The workouts we do in our classes are all geared towards getting our clients to the next level.

Kaitlin- Progressing through the RanX
But that’s really why I’m writing this today——
I realized that I was no where close to passing the new standards of Level 6. For my dips I have to do 15 reps with 44 added pounds ( I was at 7-8). Clapping pushups in the conditioning part was at 16 first round, then 15, then 13. I need 20 all 3 times in under 1:00.
So I dropped down to Level 4. Training for it. The only thing I need is 9 more Dive Bombers (You can see a video of dive bombers below- one of the more tougher pushup variations in my opinion because the stronger chest is not in it as much.) I need 30 total. And just 2 away from the knee tucks.
I’m doing a thing called ‘greasing the groove’.
Every time I leave my office and re-enter I do 4 pullups, 4 hindu squats and 4 dive bombers. This isn’t hard at all. I don’t get a pump, I don’t get any lactic acid buildup. But my muscles get more efficient at the movement. And stronger.
Plus it increases my heart rate a little, so it gets my energy and focus back throughout the day.
Then I do the test again and see where I am.
If I don’t pass that day, more of the same ‘greasing the groove.’ Plus some added focused workouts on building my strength and conditioning for level 4. But it still makes for an awesome workout.
We all want things fast and easy. We’re a microwave society.
But some things take longer to get.
And usually those things are worth it. The higher levels you go up with FitRanX the stronger and better conditioned you get— which automatically will help you look better naked as long as your following good nutrition at least 90% of the time.
Doctors require extra schooling. You don’t become the CEO of a DOW company right out of college.
Then you have to work to get to where you want to get!
The things that matter will take longer. It’s a journey.
There’s quite a few things that matter to me. And I’m on that journey to achieve them.
I am the Improvement Warrior! I am searching and striving to become the strongest version of me— physically, nutritionally, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
If it’s worth achieving it’s worth persisting through the times that don’t go your way.
Never give up!
The average person would give up.
I know your going to get it. No matter what IT is. Because I know your not average, you’re reading the Improvement Warrior Blog
I will be one of the Level 8’s for FitRanX.
Then who knows…. maybe hit the body building stage, or the kettlebell sport stage, or……. the next American Ninja Warrior!

Pretty nice post. I just stumbled upon your weblog and wished to say that I have truly enjoyed surfing around your blog posts. After all I will be subscribing to your rss feed and I hope you write again soon!
You actually make it appear so easy with your presentation but I in finding this matter to be actually one thing that I feel I’d never understand. It sort of feels too complicated and very broad for me. I’m looking forward to your subsequent submit, I will attempt to get the dangle of it!
Good day! Do you know if they make any plugins to safeguard against hackers? I’m kinda paranoid about losing everything I’ve worked hard on. Any recommendations?
I have recently started a site, the info you offer on this web site has helped me greatly. Thanks for all of your time & work.
Thank you for another wonderful post. Where else could anyone get that type of information in such a perfect way of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I’m on the look for such information.
