The body does heal………
put it in the right environment.
I talk about enviornment all the time.
It is many things:
-Where your phone is when its on
-Do you put it on your head when making a call
-Where you sleep….is it completely dark or do you have street lights or little LED lights flickering through the night
-What you eat or what you won’t eat
-WHEN you eat
-Who you hang around
-The medications you take……..or refuse to take.
-Do you watch TV in your bedroom? Do you fall asleep with the TV on
-and on and on……….
I heard a story the other day about Polar bears and that they actually hunt humans. Obviously they only eat meat and they do have to eat a lot because the cold burns a ton of calories and fat.
A group of men where somewhere up north had their ship breakdown, so they had to call for help, the ship was apparently sinking so they had to get in their raft and sail to an ice shelf.
Once they got there they see a Polar Bear.
Polar bear goes in water swims to the next closer ice shelf. Stops and looks, probably waiting to see if they had any weapons……they didn’t…..dumb move.
Polar bear repeats until he gets to their ice shelf, grabs one of the guys, swims with him to the next nearest ice shelf and then proceeds to eat him in front of his buddies.
Wrong environment going into Polar Bear land with no weapons.
Apparently there are places in Canada where it’s illegal to lock your front door. If you’re out and about and see a Polar bear you run to the next house. That’s a better environment.
Somebody said if you are out in the wild with no weapon and see a Polar bear you are a goner.
The Bear Poem goes like this: “If it’s brown, lay down. If it’s black, fight back. If it’s white, goodnight”.
Is the Polar bear the bad guy here?
Food is food.
We as humans have put ourself in environments where most of the world doesn’t have to worry about being eaten by Bears, lions or tigers.
But we have put ourself in environments that slowly degrade our health.
I rather die at 50 than be kept alive for 10, 20, 30, or 40 years by doctors, surgeons or medications.
Something breaks after years of disuse—put some metal in me to hold in place.
Something doesn’t feel right—see a doc who doesn’t know how to fix root problems, but only treats the symptoms which only creates more symptoms. So we get more drugs and more.
I consider myself lucky in that I didn’t have health insurance and could not even go to a doctor when I was fat, pre-diabetic with high anxiety, back pain, sciatica, and depression.
Lord knows what they would of prescribed.
I often give credit to Sylvester Stallone for ‘saving my life’. I had weekly thoughts of leaving this world. One thing that especially helped was the giant Rocky poster hanging in my room with the quote
“His whole life was a million to one shot”
The poster still hangs in my office.
But I had reached a point where I knew if something wasn’t done bad things would be coming.
I reached the point of being sick and tired of being sick and tired.
That point comes at different times for each of us.
And for most it never really comes because we have so many things to truly MASK the PAIN.
And we wear many different MASKS
If you would of asked me back then I would of lied and told you I’m happy, strong and my body looks like Arnold in his bodybuilding days.
The lies we tell ourself.
It comes at a big price when we lie to ourself about our health and where we are headed.
For me the jump start to my recovery was getting Lucinda Bassett’s attacking anxiety and depression program. It was tape cassette, lol. And I started reading self help books. The first two were Tony Robbins ‘Awaken the Giant Within’ and “The Secret’.
Move from negative to positive.
It’s been a journey.
I don’t know when your kick start will happen or if it ever will.
I am here WHEN you are ready.
The hardest part is always admitting- “Hey I need help.”
The second hardest is finding the right help.
Both of those are environments we either put ourself in or we avoid.
I have committed myself to helping people who actually want it.
The road is not easy. Change….permanent change is hard
