Is Gluten-Free A Myth?

I received a consumer reports buyer beware pamphlet in the mail today. I actually threw it in the recycling bin, but picked it back up when one of the covers caught my eye.

You can see the cover below:

is gluten really that damaging?

So is Gluten-free a myth?

Some might say so…some might say no…….

My point of this post is to highlight the damage that gluten containing foods really does to EVERYBODY!

In the picture is a picture of whole wheat bread. Whether that bread is gluten-free or not doesn’t change the fact the whole wheat bread increases blood sugar levels higher then regular table sugar. When you increase your blood sugar levels you get an insulin release from your pancreas which then sends your body’s free fatty acids that are floating around in your blood stream back into the fat cells; which increase the fat cells size. They then turn into triglycerides once back inside the fat cell– and raising your triglycerides.

Every body should know what their triglyceride level is. As it is an independent risk factor for all the big diseases you don’t want to get. And it is one of the five risk factors for metabolic syndrome. The metabolic syndrome qualifications are over 150 mg/dl, but in my opinion and the opinions of a lot of people that is way too high as well.

That is what ALL GLUTEN Containing products do!

They raise your blood sugar. And so do non-gluten containing foods like breads, cereals, pastas, rices, etc……

When your blood sugar is high, insulin is in your bloodstream. Your cells are getting fatter (so you are getting fatter) and your triglycerides are going up. It is impossible to lose body fat when your blood sugar is elevated. But the problem is when the blood sugar comes back down, that’s when you start to get hungry again, and usually hungry for more carbs.

Whole grain products also contains another protein called gliaden. Gliaden is referred to as the ‘nicotine’ of wheat. It’s as addictive as sugar, cocaine, cigarettes, etc……..  So you eat it, your body releases feel-good neurotransmitters, blood sugar goes up, insulin gets released, body fat goes up, triglycerides goes up, energy goes down, blood sugar comes back down, you get hungry or crungy (cranky and hungry) and crave more whole grains or more carbs in general.

Rinse, wash, repeat.

In my opinion nobody should be consuming whole grains, or gluten, just for this reason. There is a lot more reasons as to why you should NOT consume gluten. I posted my presentation on grains, gluten, and cholesterol here.

Consumer Reports is a trusted source followed by millions of readers and online subscribers. But recommending that people eat gluten and grains is irresponsible. Big companies are usually funded by other Big Companies……the wheat industry is a multi-billion dollar industry.

The only way you can know if you are gluten sensitive or have celiac disease is to get tested. But I just say eliminate it and you will feel better, look better, and have more energy. The foods we eat we either give us energy or take it away. And without energy you can’t live the life you want, and you cannot become the strongest version of YOU!

In my opinion, if all site owners and bloggers made just right content material as you did, the net shall be much more useful than ever before.

Thank you for the sensible critique. Me & my neighbor were just preparing to do some research about this. We got a grab a book from our area library but I think I learned more clear from this post. I am very glad to see such fantastic information being shared freely out there.
