I found an old food log of mine the other day.

A total of 8 or 9 ‘meals’ I ate throughout the day starting at 4:40 am and ending at 9:17 pm.
19 total eggs 😉 I know these eggs were not the best either. I only get my eggs from a farm and mostly they are duck eggs these days (about 75%).
These eggs were probably Aldi’s eggs.
This log was back when I was on Isagenix and the Paleo diet, so somewhere in 2013 to 2014— before July 6th, 2014 when I started keto. If you haven’t listened to my Improvement Warrior podcast on why I left Isagenix you can listen to it here ImprovementWarriorFitness.com/iwp6
One thing that shocked me the most was the banana. I didn’t think I was eating bananas in 2013 or 2014. I have probably eaten two since going keto then and both on treat days. There is just so many better things you can eat. And in Ohio, unless you get bananas from a specialty farmer then it ain’t local.
The other things I would not eat anymore on this list are chia seeds (lectin problem) and kale (one of the worst and highest anti-nutrient veggies out there, especially raw—never eat it raw, or just never eat it).
I mentioned before meal 4 that I was very hungry. When you eat multiple small meals a day and every 2-3 hours like I used to you become a slave to food.
You basically turn off circadian signaling, become leptin resistant and your body turns into something that gives you hunger signals at certain times of the day, rather than giving you a signal when you are actually hungry.

Everytime you eat that is a stress to the body.
Digestion is one of the most metabolically demanding processes in our body… some processes in us get shut down completely to digest and others get turned way down… it’s why eating so close to bed is really really bad, because you can’t get into the deeper stages of sleep (REM and stage 4 deep sleep) that recover us and go into autophagy (take out the trash and replace with good stuff).
That is why people feel the need for coffee and carbs all the time.

On this day I ate 4:45 am, 7:30 am, 8:50 am, 11:30 am, 1:15 pm, 4:30 pm, 7:30 pm, and 9:17 pm.
Basically, the whole day my body is in digestion process. No wonder I felt like crap, but at the time I did this I felt the best I ever felt… because I had come from Standard American diet to paleo.

Anytime you switch from Standard American diet to anything, maybe except vegan, even vegetarian would be better, you will feel better. But I kept learning about food, then learning about light water magnetism, nnemf, and things keep improving and improving.
And looking back on health then I would have told you it was a 9-10 everyday, now I would say I was around 5-6.
Big difference.
My energy stores basically came from food as I was mostly living a life of an indoor zoo animal; grounding was not in the picture for me as an everyday habit like it is now.
Eating that much destroys leptin. I certainly was thinking I was a fat-burning machine because the bro-science says — eat multiple meals per day so you stoke your metabolism and your body needs a constant source of protein because if you go more than 3-4 hours without protein your body will turn from catabolic to anabolic. Basically, your muscles and body will shrink.
Bullshit.
Bodybuilders and their magazines and even men’s and women’s health magazines are still touting this nonsense.
Feast and fast is how we evolved. Leptin needs a minimum of 4 hours before sleep with no food to be able to work properly. A maximum of 3 meals with the first one being within 1/2 hour of seeing the sunrise to reset yourself back to leptin sensitive.
If your hormones are out of whack, you will be out of whack. Leptin is the master hormone. Check out the 2 webinars I did on Leptin on the Improvement Warrior Podcast here
Other things I noticed was DHA very low. Flounder is very low on DHA scale, but still better than land-based meat. Shellfish is best followed by fish with the acronym SMASH – sardines, mackerel, anchovies, salmon, and herring. These are smaller fish and haven’t built up the toxicity of mercury and other pollutants, however seafood has the solution for mercury and lead and other toxins with all the selenium, copper, iodine, and other nutrients.

Apple and carrot were not in-season yet. Seasonal eating, as local as possible with lots of good DHA and water is probably the easiest way I can tell someone to start eating optimally.
Now in January it is pretty much seafood, meats, eggs, nuts, fat, mushrooms and the only regular veggie is onions. I will have an occasional avocado. I do bake a lot and my keto ice cream recipe is a go-to so it isn’t as boring as you would think.
Anyways fun looking back. Let me know what you think and what help you need with your nutrition & health.
