3 Phase Testing For Complete Human Performance, Development & Health

At Improvement Warrior Fitness in September 2014 we officially introduced the FitRanX Testing system. This system will allow us the ability to test all of our Improvement Warrior Fitness clients in terms of strength & conditioning, body fat, nutritional intake, and functional movement (mobility).

Each of the ‘tests’ are explained in detail below. After years of training clients and attempting to come up with a systematic approach to training, nutrition, regeneration and overall health, we believe this is simply the best way in doing so. Especially when it comes to clients who are coming into our program and who are IN our program at varying levels of fitness, strength, mobility, and health. The FitRanX Assessments will allow each of our veteran client’s, along with our new trial clients, to be able to set, and see clearly, short-term goals. These short-term goals will be the stepping stones to their longer-term goals of ultimate awesomeness.

By hitting the short-term goals, weight should never be the issue as each client who hits the next highest short-term goal in each of the different levels will be moved ahead and weight, inches, and body fat will fall in to place. The journey will not be easy. This is NOT an EASY BUTTON. Hard work is required in all phases. But with these systems: system of strength, system of nutrition, system of functional movement, and system of health; it really becomes  easier to achieve everything as the path is laid out for our clients.

Notes about the Level Assessments:

  1. Each of the following tests comes with a certain point value (21)
  2. The tests are not a competition against other Improvement Warrior’s or Trial Clients, but simply a way to gauge your progress and get you better.
  3. The point breakdown is down below underneath each of the test descriptions.
  4. All Improvement Warrior Clients are eligible for all tests. There are no make-ups if you cannot make the scheduled dates.
  5. All Improvement Warrior TRIAL CLIENTS must sign up in class if they want to test
  6. Non-Members must register here to attend the FitRanX Event as either an attendee or participant.

Phasely Goal Setting Sessions

The phasely goal setting sessions is a chance for IWF clients to get on the phone for about 15 minutes with owner Jason Yun to discuss their #1 and possibly their #2 goal. We will then hammer out an action plan for you to work on over the next 35 days.

If you do not fully complete your goal (s) in that time frame then you will continue to work on that goal(s) for the next phase. The 21-days to form a habit is old school. New research has come out showing that it takes 66 days to accomplish and completely change a habit; that is be completely emerged in the new habit. The research also concluded that it is anywhere between 18-234 days depending on the depth of the goal/habit. So 2 phases is about 70 days which is perfect time frame. Certain goals will take less time, some more. But the fact is that time is going to pass, so why not be achieving something awesome rather then staying the same. Strive to become the Improvement Warrior!

The goal(s) you want to focus on can be anything. From Nutrition, Fitness, Health, Personal, Family, Business, Work, Spiritual, etc…. It is up to you. Once you put your name down on the google doc, you will get an email with a goal sheet attached– we will go over the sheet during the call.

Prepare to succeed with the success session! Fail to Prepare, then you are preparing to fail!

Test #1: FitRanx Fitness Assessment

FitRanx

With FitRanX we are testing your overall strength and conditioning (aka stamina or endurance).

Think of the Martial Arts with their Belt System. You always start at a white belt and move up as your skills develop and get better. Eventually making it to a black belt, and then there are different degrees of black belt once achieved. Mastery is what is needed to constantly be moving up.

Same thing with FitRanX. You are asked to start at Level 1 and move up to Level 8. Some will never achieve Level 8, but there are easy to see and achieve short-term goals in both strength and conditioning that give you a target to shoot for. With each Level test of FitRanX there is 3 different age brackets and 2 gender brackets. 5 age brackets if you include our Youth FitRanX seen here.  This makes it an all-round excellent way to gauge anyone no matter where they are starting or where they are going.

All Improvement Warrior Clients are eligible to assess for the next level. If you are worried about certain exercises you can still take the Level assessment to see where you are. You will still be rewarded with points based on the point breakdown below. The coaches of IWF will talk to you at the F.L.Os (workouts) to invite you to the assessment days. You will receive an official email reminder/invitation from Jason Yun with your assessment date and time (you can also see at top of this page the dates/times).

You can see the upcoming schedule for the current phase here (please note schedule will be updated during week 1 of each phase for the new schedule)

If you are a Trial Client YOU MUST REQUEST A TEST DATE FROM AN IWF COACH–YOU WILL NOT BE INVITED UNLESS YOU REQUEST IT! Or you can do so by emailing Jason Yun here

If you are currently not involved with our program but would like to come as an attendee or participant please fill out the form at the bottom of this page.

To see the different Level Assessments and qualifications for each please check out our FitRanX Page here.

 Breakdown of FitRanX points:

  1. Pass a Level: 21 Points (there are no bonus points for passing an age bracket younger then your current age– just Pride 🙂
  2. Pass all strength exercises: 14 points
  3. Pass all conditioning circuits: 7 points
  4. Pass ONLY certain strength exercises: Strength portion will depend on total number of exercises in that Level’s test. So if it is 6 total exercises then each exercise will be worth 2.33 points (14/6= 2.33)
  5. Pass ONLY certain conditioning exercises: Conditioning portion will depend on total number of exercises in that Level’s test. So if it is 4 total exercises then each exercise will be worth 1.75 points (7/4=1.75)
